Creative 360 Hosts Second Shift Theatre Company’s Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar at C360Creative 360 will host an all-female reading of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy of Julius Caesar October 14 at 7:00 p.m. Shakespeare delivers some of his most eloquent language in Julius Caesar. Tickets are $10. BYOB.

Gaius Julius Caesar, known as Julius Caesar, was a Roman politician and general. He played a critical role in the events that led to the demise of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire. Shakespeare’s vision of Rome is both epic and intimate, from powerful speeches in grand public squares to whispered conspiracies in back rooms and dark hallways. Feel the spark of emotion as words are wielded like knives in this epic tale of ambition, betrayal and consequence.

When citizens feel they can no longer trust their elected leader, where is the line between patriotism and personal ambition? Do they remain loyal or do they stab their opponents in the back? Shakespeare asked that question over 400 years ago, and it is still relevant today. Especially poignant in an election year.

The Second Shift Theatre Company cast for this production includes: Katie Cook, Meagan Eager, Ellen Connell Finney, Sarah Harrington, Santana Vermeesch, Joannah Lodico, Carol Rumba, Natalie Lynn Slawnyk, and Gretchen Alexandra VanHoorelbeke. Directed by Matt Hutchinson.
