macfCreative 360 has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Midland Area Community Foundation Board of Trustees to be disbursed from the Harry J. Beamish Unrestricted Endowment Fund. The grant is in support of the non-profit’s Express Yourself Artshop Exhibit and Showcase, a five-month project that provides opportunities for Artshop students to work with professional artists, musicians, dancers and directors to create visual and performance art that will be shared in a culminating exhibit and performance showcase in the Creative 360’s gallery.

The exhibition and performance showcase, planned for September 2 to October 7 will highlight the passion and artistic ability of nearly 150 Express Yourself Artshop students, the work of artists across Michigan and the Very Special Arts (VSA) travelling exhibit.

“We are sincerely grateful for the support we receive from the Midland Area Community Foundation,” said Creative 360 Executive Director Carol Rumba. “This donation will help offset the costs of providing this experience to our students and the community.”

Express Yourself Artshop is an ongoing program that serves people with mental, intellectual and physical challenges with arts education and experiences. The program serves more than 200 students with more than 35 different art, music, drama, movement, and wellness classes each semester.

The Midland Area Community Foundation provides philanthropic leadership to strengthen our community by fostering collaboration and giving today and in the future.
