LODICO TO PERFORM SATURDAY

Mezzo soprano Joannah Lodico will perform at Creative 360 Saturday, January 14 at 7:00 pm. She will be accompanied by Val Lemen. Tickets are $10 and available at Creative 360 by calling 989-837-1885 or online at becreative360.org. Refreshments will be served.

Lodico’s concert continues in the holiday spirit with an evening of traditional and contemporary songs that reflect the winter season. Repertoire includes classic songs like In the Bleak of Midwinter and Barber’s Must Winter Come So Soon.

“I wanted to present a concert that would bring some light to these dreary winter days,” Lodico explains. “The songs I selected celebrate and meditate on the winter months and allow us to take time to pause and reflect on old and new traditions as the snow falls.”

The power of music has always been a part of Lodico’s life and imagination. Since high school, the desire to create and sing music has been a passion, which led her to study vocal performance at Trinity Christian College in Chicago where she earned her Bachelor’s degree. She continued her studies and earned a Masters in Art Administration at the University of Michigan-Flint in 2012.

Her original composition, Nepenthe, is featured at the end of the film Shades of Darkness. She will perform this hauntingly beautiful song live at the Michigan movie premier, April 28 at Creative 360.
