Creative 360 is hosting a new exhibit featuring the plein air paintings of Priscilla Olson along with the ceramic creations of Pamela Hart. The opening reception is Friday, April 27, 7:00 – 8:30 pm Everyone is welcome. There is no charge.
Priscilla Olson is a plein air artist who works in oils. Her paintings represent a feeling of anticipation and mystery. She likes wondering – not so much knowing – about the subjects. Curiosity compels her to choose her themes. Priscilla grew up in Midland and began her professional life in the Chicago area as a commercial animator and plein air painter.
When creating her ceramic pieces, Pamela Hart is primarily inspired by the functional form. In addition, textural surfaces are an important part of her art, which she sees as an extension of the fascination she had with her first loves – embroidery and needlework. The labor-intensive decorative surfaces and the complicated glazing she employs are her ceramic version of embroidery.
The show is on exhibit through May 27.
