CREATIVE 360 GARDEN PLOTS AVAILABLE

Creative 360 Community GardensCreative 360 still has a number of garden plots available for the summer. Located on the grounds of Creative 360 at the corner of Bayliss St. and Arbury Place, the Community Gardens are now managed by Gina Malczewski and the Midland chapter of the American Chemical Society, with consultation from the Midland Master Gardeners.

Garden practices are eco-friendly. It is a space where people can grow food in a way that is healthy for them, the environment, and the community. Both water and compost are available onsite. Plots are reserved on a first-come/first-serve basis in three sizes available for the season:

  • Seven 6’x10’ plots for $20 each
  • Seven 6’x12’ plots for $25 each
  • Seven 6’x18’plots for $30 each

The first garden orientation is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 (weather permitting) to be followed by a series of short educational presentations by Master Gardener Ben Franklin designed to help all gardeners have a successful growing season.

More details are available on the Creative 360 website, or you can call 989 837-1885.  Stop by Creative 360 at 1517 Bayliss St. to reserve your plot and to pick up your information packet.

Free Gardening Classes
Creative 360 is also the location for monthly garden classes offered by the Master Gardeners throughout the growing season.  Community gardeners and individuals wanting to expand their knowledge are invited to gather together once monthly for these short presentations on a variety of gardening topics followed by an open forum for discussion. These gatherings grew out of the collaborative efforts of the Midland County Master Gardener Association, Creative 360 and the City of Midland Horticulture Department. They are free to attend, but pre-registration is encouraged on the Creative 360 website.  The classes are 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. as follows:

Wed, Jun 12:      I Grew these Herbs and Vegetables: Now What?

Wed, Jul 10:       Heirloom Plants & Seed Saving

Tue, Aug 6:         Beginning Bullet Journaling for the Gardener
